I Am an Old Woman - Poem

I am an old woman

with a young simple voice.
That speaks within me.
With a lack of university phrases in my poetry.
A good reason, for a childish tone.
Should I try to change?
As an advancement.
Extend my range.
My writing only relates to those like myself.
Placements are sketchy.
My patterns
sway.
Words soon forgotten when the pages turn away.
That is fine with me, knowing that I am not alone.
My verses give a melody, for a smile, or a sad grin.
One or the other
wins.
That is fine with me, maybe, that is all I was meant to do.

Secret Muse - Poem

Secret muse, your warmth and light.
How strange, for something so small
to give a bright flame that reaches
further than its body.
Your halo
memorizes me,
capturing my eyes to flow with your will.
The strange attraction you have as I sit and watch, biding the time in the night.
Then a fragrance melts in the air.
The last touch of your hypnotic hand, which caresses my mind to unwind with your serenity.
Is there a word for you, my light of tranquility?

How strange, for something so small to be able to illuminate my senses,
words,
and soul.

Oh Those Secret Lips - Poem

Oh those secret lips, what holds for me.

I have long to taste them endlessly.
Visions in my mind, so many times,
Your eyes so gently embracing mine.

It's hard to resist, those tempting lips.
I had face every promising day.
I want to speak, my words are so weak,
To release my wishful thoughts to say.

Oh those dark lips, so pink and sweet.
To be so close to a yearning treat.
I will kiss those lips, I will it seems.

Whenever I can steal a daydream.

Mother Nature - Poem

Pain
strikes her fingers,
Yet,
she must dig and sow,

To plant another seed.

Defying Time

Once, there was a smooth, textured surface with a tint of rosy blossoms that was kissed by the sun. Warm summer breezes swept across its naïve spirit, giving a kinship smile, yet unbeknownst to this innocent young one was the terror beneath.

Sleeping silently, storing its strength, only to be awakened by the chimes of its internal clock.

Then without notice, it rises!

A long stretch crevice reaches out and appears across the side of your eyes. Gawking and taunting, daring you to stop the aging process, one must fight back and try to defy time!

No longer should we feel intimidated by gray hair, wrinkles, and the inevitable end.
Together we can prevent these afflictions, in any way keep our vanity!

As time passes us by, we notice the first subtle clues of the menace called the gray hairs. Plucking, coloring, and hats are several ways to keep such a nuance at bay. At first, the impulse of plucking each strand seemed to be sensible, with one drawback, the development of bald spots.

Another way and considered very fashionable is coloring.
The do-it-yourself in the all-in-one box is easy if one knows what color to choose. The results, however, can be a bit misleading, especially when your hair turns bright orange with gray streaks.

This is when the vast assortment of hats from your local K-Mart presents itself handy as you seek professional help at the mall’s beauty salon.  Battling, the woes of gray hair that create another depressing imprint the wrinkle. There in the shop of beauty are endless supplies to fight the invasion of pleats and crinkles.

For example, creams, lotions, and natural herbs are all at one’s disposal; just use it wisely to avoid excess oil blotches and yellow skin. This process would take several years, but there is an alternative measure if the time is short.

Plastic surgery is the answer. One can be cut, stretched, and sewn in no time. Of course, the expenses are much higher than a bottle of the new and improve anti-wrinkle, age-definer, time caplets, but think of the joyous anticipation, the Hollywood scene of your new face.

In eight to twelve weeks, the swollen eyelids and black bruises above the cheekbones would have diminished. With only a few thousands of dollars in debt, your timeless features are ready until its expiration.

Not to fear the end, for one's beauty might trick the grim reaper himself, thanks to today’s scientists. We can enlist their aid in defying the inevitable end.

Cryogenics is a scientific technique that uses cold temperatures to freeze DNA cells, a process in hopes to rejuvenate and multiply human cells, with the wish to be brought back at a later time.
The greatest surprise is that all they need is your gorgeous head; after all, it’s the part you spent most of your money.

Think of the first-hand experience of watching your body grow, in a few hundred years from now and receiving endorsements from GE and Frigidaire. Perhaps genes cell solution for gray hair, finally away with silly hats!

This can be the final crusade in achieving one’s youthfulness for the future.
Growing old gracefully can be a thing of the past, if today’s youngsters are cautious in caring for their bodies.

For the rest of us, the sands of time will find its path. Slowly approaching our mortal bodies and hijacking our appearance. Giving us two choices: one is early in our lifetime as a warning signal to those who have been abusing their outer layer or the second option at a much later date, as a result of development, maturity, and timeless wisdom.

I personally, prefer to keep my head straight and choose the latter option. However with the disclaimer if science does catch up with science fiction.

Then freeze me!
